70-74 on the MLB down 9.55 units
Staying away from Red Sox-Yankees. I think the Red Sox will win, but -170 is too much juice against New York’s heavy hitters. I got burned betting against Stanton and Judge last time out, so I am not going to do it again. Big money today.
Astros at -152 for 8 units. Justin Verlander, Justin Verlander, and Justin Verlander. This September, he was 3-0 with a 1.09 ERA, 0.64 WHIP, and 50 strikeouts in 33 innings. Verlander loves this time of year. Marwin Gonzalez and Georger Springer hit Kluber better than anyone on Cleveland hits Verlander. Kluber has a 3.80 ERA on the road compared to sub 2.2 at home. The Indians were actually under .500 outside of the horrendous AL Central. Astros had a +266 run differential on the season!!
Brewers at -157 for 7 units. Brewers have the pitching advantage, especially since Chacin has already won in a high pressure situation against the Cubs. Yelich is the hottest man in baseball. Yelich, so hot right now, Yelich. I would just walk him every single time if I were the Rockies.
Dodgers at -212 for 7 units. Kershaw time baby. That is all.
17-15 on college football up 4.86 units
Alabama had the cover at halftime against ULL, but ended up not covering. That is a bad beat. Clemson barely snuck out a win over Syracuse with Trevor Lawrence getting hurt. He should be good to go against Wake Forest. WVU dominated the first half at Texas Tech and staved off the Red Raider comeback. Texas dominated the first half against KSU and held on for the win. Florida beat a ranked Mississippi State team. Virginia Tech got over their ODU loss and beat a ranked duke team. My favorite website. LSU rolled over Ole Miss.
In the game of the week, Ohio State came back from down 12 in the 4th quarter to beat Penn State in front of the largest crowd in Beaver Stadium history. Trace McSorley is pretty damn good for Penn State. He is fun to watch. Penn State will have to beat Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin (along with all their other games) if they want to have a chance at the playoff now.
Georgia Tech at -212 for 5 units. Georgia Tech has the better offense and the better defense. Lamar Jackson covered up a lot of Louisville’s deficiencies last season, he plays for the Baltimore Ravens now. Is Joe Flacco elite? The Yellow Jackets rush for 339 yards per game and they will wear the Cardinals down. Louisville scores a measly 18 points a game. Georgia Tech’s loses were due to penalties and fumbles, but they seemed to have fixed that against Bowling Green. GT averages 2 interceptions a game and Jawon Pass has thrown the 5th most interceptions in college football for the Cardinals.
Utah State +2 for 2 units. I just can’t see why BYU is favored in this one. They looked awful last week against a good Washington team. Utah State has the better offense and the defenses are about the same. Utah State has just passed the eye test for me way more than BYU has so I will bite.
36-27-5 on Soccer since World Cup up 17.33 units
Werder Bremen at -108 for 3 units. Werder Bremen have not lost in their past 15 matches at home. They got their first loss of the season last time out against Stuttgart, but that because Milos Veljkovic got red-carded in the first half for Bremen. Wolfsburg have lost their last 3 matches to Bremen. Max Kruse and the 21 year old Maximillian Eggestein have both been playing well for Werder Bremen this season. Bremen are in better form, have home-field advantage, and have the better attack.
Werder Bremen/Wolfsburg draw at +230 for 1 units. Funnily enough, both teams have drawn 3 and lost 3 in their last 6 Friday night clashes. Wolfsburg have drawn 3 of their past 4 games, so I think there is a little value in the draw. Using it as a hedge basically. Bremen will win or draw this match.
