Season bets:

Patriots win AFC at +200 for 3 units. They will be in the game as long as Tom stays healthy and then you can hedge out if you want (I prolly won’t do that but…).

Panthers win NFC at +2100 for 2 units.

Saints win NFC at +575 for 2 units. I think either one of these teams would have beat the Eagles if they played them in the playoffs last season. And you might be saying cool doesn’t matter.. well I think it does matter because they know they can beat anyone. Saints and Panthers have windows that won’t be open for more than 2 more years. It is win now mode for both of them.

Thursday night bets:

Falcons +1.5 for 3 units. Falcons are going to run the ball this game. Sanu, Hooper, and Ridley are the best compliments Julio has had since Roddy White and Pretty face Tight end Tony were in Atlanta. I think the NFC South is the best division in football. The Falcons will get their revenge and learn from their mistakes last time they lost to the Eagles. Atlanta got a little better this off season and are healthier than they were in the playoffs last season (when compared to the Eagles). Injuries hurt them in that game.

College Football September 1st

0-1 on college football down 3 units. 

Tilting a little bit because I am mad Army did not cover. Scared money don’t make money.

Ohio State/Oregon State over 63 for 4 units. Oregon State has no defense.

Texas -13.5 for 4 units. The Longhorns will get their revenge for last year here. DJ Durkin is suspended for Maryland after the sad events of this past summer. I like Sam Ehlinger a lot for the Longhorns and I think he can do enough here.

North Carolina +7.5 for 4 units. This game is a coin flip so I will take the 7.5 point cushion.

Old Dominion -5 for 5 units. ODU will beat Liberty. ODU struggled last year against bigger schools, but they will win this one. Liberty paid ODU 1.3 million dollars to play this game. Bobby Wilder is a solid coach for ODU.

16-11-2 on Soccer since World Cup up 12.90 units

Bayern Munich at -333 for 5 units. Stuttgart beat Bayern 4-1 last time they played. Bayern will get revenge today. Bayern has won their 6 games on the road domestically. Stuttgart has been scored on by Bayern the last 18 times they have met. Muller has got out to a good start fort Bayern and I expect that to continue.

College Football August 31st

Let me start off by saying I am giddy with excitement for this football season. Let’s make some money..

Army +14 for 3 units. Duke’s offense could not get it going against Army last year. I think this line is way too high. Darnell Woolfork is going to get a lot of work this season for Army. Army’s leading receiver finished the season with 111 yards…. They don’t throw the ball haha. I still think Duke wins this game, but by around 10 points… not 14.

Tigers at +303 for 1 unit. Why not? Jordan Zimmerman is starting for the Tigers and he can get a win.

Rockies at -134 for 4 units. Brett Kennedy does not scare me at all for the Padres. Colorado has to get a win tonight if they want to win the division. They can’t keep losing to the Padres..

63-61 on the MLB up 4.07 units

Lost on MLB last time out. Losing isn’t fun. I am going to quit doing that. Back on the winning horse today.

Diamondbacks at +123 for 3 units. Rich Hill pitched a great game last time out, but it was against the helpless Padres. The Dodgers are hot and the Diamondbacks are not. I still think the Dbacks at plus money is too good to pass up here. Robbie Ray is due for a victory, he has had a no-decision in his last 6 starts. Ray has won 6 times against the Dodgers which is his personal best against any team.

16-11-2 on Soccer since World Cup up 11.14 units

Besiktas at -170 for 3 units. Besiktas just has more talent on the field than Partizan Belgrade. Besiktas lost 3-2 to Antalyaspor last time out, but it was a game where Besiktas won the second half after a terrible first half. Ricardo Gomes has been scoring for fun for Partizan, but Medel, Pepe, Gonul, Quaresma, Arslan, and Ozyakup should have the experience needed to win this second leg for Besiktas.

Tennis

Tennis August 30th – US Open

Went up 14.82 units on Wimbledon

4-2 and up 3.97 units on the US Open

Fognini at -215 for 5 units. John Millman had an easy first round draw and will have to step it up if he wants to beat Fognini. Consistency has always been a problem for Fognini, but he seems to have figured it out a little bit this year as he already has more wins than last season.

Schwartzman at -555 for 4 units. I love betting on Schwartzman because you know what you are going to get. He is going to force long rallies and tire out his opponent on most days. This line is most likely a little too high, but I will bite.

Kohlschreiber/Ebden over 38 for 2 units. I looked at -4 for Kohlschreiber for a while, but I think I am going to pull the trigger on the over. Both their first round matchups went over and I could see some 6-4 sets. Kohlschreiber is nothing if not consistent so I expect a tight match here.

Phillies at +104 for 3 units. The aces are pitching today in this one. Aaron Nola for the Phillies and Max Scherzer for the Nats. Nola is 3-0 vs the Nats this season. The Phillies have been slipping of late and are now 3.5 games back of the Braves. This should be a close game, but I think Nola and the Phillies will win it.

Rays at +113 for 3 units. Rays have won 8 in a row and are now an underdog. They know they have to keep winning if they want to make the playoffs. Just riding the hot hand here. The Rays just swept the Red Sox and they looked like a playoff team in that series. I don’t expect that to just disappear.

Tennis

Tennis August 28th – US Open

Went up 14.82 units on Wimbledon

2-0 and up 3.07 units on the US Open

Schwartzman -7 for 3 units. Diego Schwartzman has beat Delbonis the last 3 times they have met. All those matches have been on clay and I think Diego may have a bigger advantage on these hard courts. Schwartzman made it to the quarter finals here last year. Delbonis has not played a competitive hard court match since losing to Federer in March. I like this spot.

Fognini -6 for 2 units. Fognini is my favorite player on tour for a lot of reasons. The usual inconsistent Fognini that doesn’t take shit from anybody (not even the chair), has been surprisingly consistent this season. Fabio Fognini has not lost an opening match in a grand slam this season. Michael Mmoh got the wild card for the second time in his career at the US Open, but he just doesn’t have the talent or experience that Fognini will display today.

Troicki +6.5 for 2 units. Sandgren is not in his best form, while Troicki has no fitness of late. Makes it tough to pick a winner so I am going with the underdog. Troicki is the better player when both are at full strength.

Troicki/Sandgren over 35 for 2 units. I think Troicki will win one of the first two sets then fatigue will set in. I could see this going 4 sets and Sandgren pulling it out, but whoever wins, it will be a competitive match.
