Scottie Scheffler winning the Players back 2 back washed away a lot of college basketball sins. An Auburn over didn’t hit, even though they scored 86 (South Carolina had 55). UNC let up 35 to Pittsburgh in 1H, but Pittsburgh couldn’t break 67 points. I ain’t worried about losing some close ones. A lot of basketball left. Congrats to all the conference winners – especially NC State and Duquesne for winning their conferences for the first time in a long time (’87 and 77′). Sadly those two teams beat my teams. VCU made the NIT. UNC got a 1 seed. Last year VCU made the tourney and UNC didn’t – be cool if they could both make it. Real Cool.

Kentucky -13.5 for 4 units. Using my DK 64% boost here. Hit this one when it opened, and the line hasn’t moved. Oakland allows a high percentage of shots in transition (5th most out of any team in tournament). That scares me against Kentucky’s guards. Over/under is 163 – There will be points in this game and Kentucky will get too many easy ones. Kentucky has almost become a lovable loser in this tournament – They have a chance to go on a run this year.

NC State +5.5/Creighton -13.5/BYU Duquesne over 140.5 Risking 1 unit to win 3.9 units. I watched NC State beat UVA and UNC in person. Burns and Burns are problems. OConnel can shoot. Duquesne have been scoring since they beat VCU in Richmond – Honestly he milked the injury a bit. Just almost lost a tooth. Happens to children all the time. Dae Dae is a problem for the Dukes. BYU have a smooth offense, but I do not think their defense is crazy good. BYU are actually one of the few teams that the tournament seeded correctly. BYU love getting out in transition.

South Carolina/Creighton/Auburn -12.5 risking 1 unit to win 2.89 units. Jay Bilas said Oregon would win, so going with the Cocks. Creighton ain’t losing to Akron – RIGHT? Yale are not great at offense or defense. They just beat Brown by 1 to make the tournament on an unathletic looking last second shot. The opposite of Kyrie’s game winning shot against the Nuggets.

Kyrie Irving 4.5 assists/Kyrie 3 3s made/Mavs over 114.5 tonight against the Spurs. Riskin 1 unit to win 1.89 units. Doncic is Prolly playing, but I like Kyrie to get a little more usage with Luka’s hamstring issue. Kyrie seems to be locking in. He has played in 18 games straight for the first time since 2016 I think it was. Spurs defense will be great one day with Wemby, but that day is not this season.

Jordan Poole first 3 +390. Bet & Get on DK for 0.5 units. No Jones for the Wizards. Was going to go with Kispert or Poole, but Poole’s odds are better. Dk has nuked their odds on this promo, but I hit on Kyrie with Luka out, Kuzma with Jones out, and D Mitchell with Strus out.

Jokic, who he is playing tonight, led the NBA last year with 29 of them last year and won the title. Sabonis will give it his best tonight against Jokic. Sabonis had 40 PRA in this last meeting, but that was a low-scoring 102-98 right before all-star break affair. I like this over to hit with more points being scored than that meeting tonight.

Hornets have covered every game since Tre Mann was added to the team. LaMelo is still out, but he does not move the needle enough compared to public perception.

College Basketball is heating up. VCU was rolling until they lost by 22 to UMass. Penn State kicked their leading scorer off the team and then beat Illinois. UConn was looking dominant untill they got smacked on the road. UNC has a point guard, 3-point shooter, and big man so they can always make a run. Houston’s defense is suffocating. Auburn looked great until a home loss to Kentucky. I’m locked in so some plays will be coming..

I also bet on Tony Finau, David Lipsky, Emiliano Grillo, and/or Alejandro Tosti to win this Mexico Open. It is a course for horses and Cameron Champ is already off to a hot start. Hojgaard, Shelton, and Ghim are the guys I wished I would have bet after watching 15 minutes of golf this morning..

Jahmyr Gibbs & Zay Flowers blow it

Gibbs and Flowers are gonna be studs, but their rookie pedigree showed up in the playoffs. Zay fumbled down 10 and driving – Gibbs fumbled up 7 and already losing momentum. Lamar fumbled and threw a bad interception. Dan Campbell had some questionable coaching, but the rookies gotta hold onto the ball. I would much rather have a Lions/Ravens Super Bowl than Taylor Swift/49ers.

Terry Rozier or Jimmy Butler in Crunchtime?

The Heat are in the middle of massive losing skid. Since they took Terry Rozier from my hornets for Lowry’s big – let me tell you they already have problems. Rozier scored 8 of the Heat’s first 11 points last night in the loss to the Booker Suns. Then he asked Jimmy to take the technical free throw and Jimmy shook his head no. Jimmy made the free throw, but gotta let the new fan favorite cook. Terry’s offense then suffered and the Heat lost the game. Jimmy lets Herro shine – can he also let Rozier shine? Time will tell, but I would not bet on the Heat going back to the ECF with their defense playing like it is.

NFL Divisional Round – Hopefully the Games are not shit blowouts again this weekend

The Cowboys Suck! They have not won an NFC Championship since their Super Bowl win in the 90s — The Lions Don’t Suck! The Lions got their first playoff win since before xbox live, text messages, and Facebook were a thing. Panthers keep announcing on their instagram that they are interviewing coaches (its a lot and none are named Harbaugh). These games will be better this weekend. Read last weekend like a book. Wouldn’t hate betting Devin Singletary to score again, but going parlay crazy… Packers might win again.. Bills favored makes me think they smack the Chiefs.

Isiah Pacheco longest reception over 10.5 yards/Amon Ra St. Brown TD/Aaron Jones TD/Nico Collins TD for 1 unit at +2179 with 30% boost. Could be a Travis Kelce game, more likely to be a Rice game, but I think still think Pacheco will take a screen pass for some yards – especially if Chiefs are down. St Brown was the only Lion to not score last week it felt like. He’s due. Nico is a stud and still not gettin respect at +160. Aaron Jones.. Keep it up. He’s been red hot the past 4 weeks now.

Lamar Jackson over 199.5 Passing Yards/Packers over 13.5 Points/Buccaneers over 16.5 Points/Josh Allen over 39.5 rushing yards for 1 unit at +350. Lamar is getting 200 passing yards. Packers are scoring 14. Bucs are scoring 17. Josh Allen is the variable, but I think he pulls off another long run last week. Chiefs secondary is not the best tackling secondary.

Packers over 16.5/Packers +3.5 1Q/Packers over 9.5 1H/Over 9.5 1Q for 1 unit at +448. Packers keep it rolling. They were hot over the past month of the season and worked the Cowboys. 49ers may lean on them and win the game like they always seem to do against the Packers, but I think the Packers score enough to keep it close.

Shai-Gilgeous-Alexander under 44.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists for 3 units. Why is SGA catching a stray? No, it is not because I wish the Hornets had him instead of Miles Bridges (Bad trade). It is because the Thunder scored like 134 points against the Kings last time they played and this number still ain’t it.

NFL Wild Card Weekend 2024

Bill Belichick and the Patriots parted ways. Pete Carroll is no longer a head coach. Ron Rivera is out of a job. Nick Saban has retired. A lot of the best coaches of an era are gone. Will Mike McCarthy be next? Stay tuned. My Panthers have struggled to find a coach for a long time… Don’t know why Vrabel or Harbaugh or any good coach would want to work in Charlotte – but hopefully we can trick one.

Devin Singletary +136 with 30% boost for 4 units. A lot of attention on Stroud, but Singletary has quietly been a stud over the 2nd half of the season.
