Tennis August 28th – US Open

42-14-2 on tennis up 29.71 units

Went up 14.82 units on Wimbledon

2-0 and up 3.07 units on the US Open

Schwartzman -7 for 3 units. Diego Schwartzman has beat Delbonis the last 3 times they have met. All those matches have been on clay and I think Diego may have a bigger advantage on these hard courts. Schwartzman made it to the quarter finals here last year. Delbonis has not played a competitive hard court match since losing to Federer in March. I like this spot.

Fognini -6 for 2 units. Fognini is my favorite player on tour for a lot of reasons. The usual inconsistent Fognini that doesn’t take shit from anybody (not even the chair), has been surprisingly consistent this season. Fabio Fognini has not lost an opening match in a grand slam this season. Michael Mmoh got the wild card for the second time in his career at the US Open, but he just doesn’t have the talent or experience that Fognini will display today.

Troicki +6.5 for 2 units. Sandgren is not in his best form, while Troicki has no fitness of late. Makes it tough to pick a winner so I am going with the underdog. Troicki is the better player when both are at full strength.

Troicki/Sandgren over 35 for 2 units. I think Troicki will win one of the first two sets then fatigue will set in. I could see this going 4 sets and Sandgren pulling it out, but whoever wins, it will be a competitive match.

Went up 14.82 units on Wimbledon, now let’s get this US Open betting started.

Kevin Anderson at -343 for 4 units. Anderson made me some money on Wimbledon so I am going to keep riding him. Ryan Harrison beat Anderson they last time they met and Anderson will want to get his revenge. Harrison is going to have to play his best tennis to win..

Juan Martin Del Potro -7 for 2 units. Donald Young is just not in the same class as Del Potro. Del Potro won his first and only grand slam here in 2009. Young has not been playing his best tennis this season and now gets one of the favorites to win the tournament. I think Del Potro will break Young enough times for this to cover.

Soccer August 27th

15-11-2 on the Soccer since World Cup up 6.14 units

Tottenham Hotspur +0 at +125 for 4 units. Manchester United and Jose Mourinho need a win today at home, but I do not think they get it. United is off to their worst start since 2014/2015. Brighton beat United 3-2 the last time out. Tottenham could get out to their best start in nearly a decade with a win today. Kane normally struggles against United, but I expect that to change today. He has 2 goals in 7 league games against Manchester. I just think Tottenham has been playing a lot better than United and that will show today.

MLB August 27th

62-57 on the MLB up 12.35 units

Rays keep winning and if Snell can keep pitching like he is, he will win the Cy Young. Goldschmidt hit a home run that is still flying somewhere. Severino and the Yankees got another win. The Yanks are now 6 games back of their rival Red Sox. Gausman got another win with the Braves. It is shaping up to be a fun end of the season with a month left.

Blue Jays at -130 for 2 units. Neither starting pitcher is great in this one and the Orioles just can’t buy a win. Kendrys Morales will tie a MLB record if he homers in this game because he will have a home run in 8 straight games. He will be tied with Ken Griffey Jr., Don Mattingly, and Dale Long. Griffey did it last in 1993. Cedric Mullins, the Orioles best player of late, is also out..

Cubs at -135 for 2 units. Syndergaard does not scare me too much and the Cubs are hot. It is that simple.

Rockies at -140 for 2 units. Odrisamer Despaigne has been pretty terrible in his two decisions and I expect that to continue. It is always tough for a longtime bullpen pitcher to start starting games. Jon Gray has been solid this season and the Rockies need a win to keep up with the Diamondbacks. Arenado is also silly hot right now, batting .333 in August.

Tigers at -131 for 3 units. I like Matthew Boyd more than I like James Shields. Shields just gives up way too many homers for my liking. White Sox are a pitiful 16-38 in day games and today is another game day. White Sox do not hit lefties as well as righties and Boyd is a lefty.

Sevilla at -380 for 4 units. Sevilla is starting new signing Gonalons who should add some stability to the midfield. Sarabia, Muriel, Vidal, and Nolito should be enough going forward for Sevilla to walk over Sigma Olomouc. Sevilla knows they need to get some away goals here just so they do not get put in a tight spot during the second leg.

Red Bull Salzburg at +119 for 3 units. Red Star is not in the same class as Salzburg. I think Salzburg wins this game. Munas Dabbur has been great this season and has 4 goals in 4 Bundesliga matches. Red Star does have a solid defense, but they have not played a team of this caliber lately.

59-57 on the MLB up 5.26 units

Twins at -113 for 3 units. Michael Kopech will make his debut for the White Sox. Kopech will try to add some life to this dreary White Sox season. Berrios is 7-1 vs the White Sox in his career and he gets the start for the Twins tonight. Berrios leads the Twins in strikeouts and wins and I think he gets another win tonight.

Padres/Rockies under 10.5 at -113 for 2 units. Robbie Erlin gives up less than a homer every 10 innings and I like his ability to control a game. Tyler Anderson has been average this season, but he has given up only 5 earned runs in his last 5 starts at home. I like this under even if it is in Colorado.

13-9-2 on the Soccer since World Cup up 6.74 units

Ronaldo didn’t score, but Juventus did squeak out a 3-2 victory. Juve had like 4 times the shots than Chievo had, but Chievo converted their PK.

Atletico Madrid pk, -0.5 for 3 units at -113. Griezmann and Costa will be too much for Valencia. I just can’t see Valencia scoring more than 1 goal against Atletico. Atletico is coming off an excellent game against Real Madrid and I think they ride that confidence.

Liverpool -1, -1.5 for 3 units at -112. I think this might be Liverpool’s year. Mane loves scoring against Palace. Palace did get off to a way better start this season already than last season, but I think Liverpool will win this game by 1 or more goals so I will bite.

Braves at +115 for 3 units. Chris Archer fade. I love betting against him. I thought this line would favor the Pirates by a lot more so I am going against my gut a little bit here and zagging. Kevin Gausman has looked solid in all of his starts for the Braves. Gausman is 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA since he joined Atlanta. I think Atlanta’s bats get hot today.
