NBA Thursday – The Bad Get Worse

61-53-2 on NBA in 2018 up 9.28 units

14-13-2 on NBA this season up 1.79 units

Ayyyy, finally up on NBA this season. I love Kemba Walker. Kemba put the team on his back down 11 with a little over 6 minutes to go. Kemba gave up the final shot to Jeremy Lamb who drained it and won me my(our) bet. Malik Monk got so excited during Lamb’s shot he ran on the court a little too soon and got a tech. Pistons got a free throw, but in the end it didn’t matter. I am glad it happened as a Hornets fan because we got this awesome-warm-hearted moment between MJ and Monk. Mj smacked him upside the head lol. Monk played well in the game. Bridges and Monk are both only 20 years old and should be ballers for years to come. RESIGN KEMBA NOW!!

Started off the season horribly, but rebounded nicely like Bradley Beal last night. Kyrie went berserk in overtime and the Celtics got the win over the struggling Wizards. Time to bet against some more struggling teams tonight…

Magic/Mavs Parlay risking 4 units to win 4.08 units. Magic have lost 7 of their last 10, but the Bulls have lost 9 of their last 10. The Bulls give up 110 points a game and barely score 100 a game. This game is in Mexico at Mexico City’s Arena Ciudad de Mexico. Evan Fournier and Mo Bamba should be back in the lineup for Orlando. Vucevic can’t play worse than he did against Dallas, shooting 4-15 from the field. The Bulls have formed a leadership committee… A professional NBA team has formed a leadership committee. Even the Knicks and Dolan are laughing at that.. The Bulls have won their last 5 meetings against Orlando, but Chicago loses tonight.

The Mavs will want revenge for their opening night 21 point loss to the Suns. The Suns have gone 3-21 since that win. Devin Booker is still out for Phoenix. He said he was sick of playing for a team that doesn’t make the playoffs, so it is fitting he has missed the last 5 or so games. Dirk is back for the Magic. It is wild Steve Nash is commentating on Champions League soccer games for TNT, while Dirk is still trying to dunk in the NBA. I love Dirk and Nash. Dallas got outrebounded in the first matchup, DeAndre Jordan will have to be the beast he is tonight. Harrison Barnes has been heating up. I like this spot.

Lakers +6 for 3 units. Rockets have been playing poorly this season. Lebron and the Lakers have been playing a lot better of late. Lakers are 7-3 in last 10. Rockets are 3-7 in last 10. Lebron is averaging 28.3 PPG on 52.1% shooting. He is still great, but how bout you get above 70% from the free throw line Bron Bron. Ariza and Anderson are missed for the Rockets as their bench sucks. James Ennis is out for Houston, which means Gordon has to start. That further hurts their bench. Kuzma is averaging 21 and 9 in his last 7 games without Ingram. I think they should trade Ingram and a first for Beal. Lebron needs another shooter around him IMO.

NFL TNF – Chargers at Chiefs

58-43-4 on the NFL up 35.20 units

Chiefs at -189 for 9 units. Almost a MAX PLAY. Kansas City are 6-0 at home this season. Home teams are 10-3 on Thursday nights this NFL season. Travis Kelce is on pace to break the NFL record for TE yards in a season. This game is crucial to playoff seeding as the Chiefs are just 1 game ahead of the Chargers for first place. The #1 seed has made the Super Bowl in the AFC each of the last 5 seasons (Denver in 13 and 15, Pats in the other years). Rivers is throwing the least amount of interceptions in his career this season, but he has struggled against the Chiefs in his career. He did go off on them in September, but KC’s defense looks better now.

Ekeler looks to be out for the Chargers with a concussion, while Gordon will likely play at less than 100% as he had a limited practice Tuesday. KC averages 8 more points a game than LA. KC converts 7% more on 3rd downs. LA has the better defense with Bosa back, but KC actually has more sacks on the year. Keenan Allen has been playing great recently and will most likely eat. Eric Berry (lifestory warms my heart) and Tyreek Hill (let’s not talk about his personal life..) are both questionable, but I think they both play limited snaps. KC’s homefield advantage (windy and might rain), better offense, ability to pressure Rivers, and better coaching gets them the win in this one.

Final Europa League Group Stage Round

78-58-7 on Soccer since World Cup up 23.85 units

Back 2 back days with a winning record on soccer, but losing due to my big plays losing. Ronaldo let me down. Ronaldo talked about how at Real Madrid people wanted to score for themselves, but at Juve it doesn’t matter who scores. Well, look in the mirror Ronaldo.. we all know you love to do that anyway. Dyabala came on as a sub and scored and almost scored again before you tried to steal it and were offsides disallowing the goal. Just imagine if Dybala did that to Ronaldo. This is not mentioning the 3 clear chances Ronaldo bottled in the first 25 minutes of the game. I do like Ronaldo, but it is games like this that make me think Messi is better. I digress..

Sevilla at -294 for 4 units. Sevilla have won 8 games in a row at home. The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium (that I took a photo of as the header photo for this website) is good to Sevilla. Sevilla needs to match or do better than Standard Liege if they want to move on. It is hard to believe that a team fighting for the La Liga title is in this position, but here we are. Pablo Sarabia is in-form for Sevilla. Krasnodar are leading the group and are moving onto the next round unless the highly unlikely happens. Sevilla lost the last meeting 2-1, with Tornike Okriashvili scoring the winner for Krasnodar. Sevilla did not start Silva, Sarabia, or Vazquez in that game. I think all 3 start today in this crucial game and make a huge difference.

Celtic at +164 for 3 units.

Celtic/Salzburg draw at +241 for 1 unit. Salzburg are comfortably winning their group and are 14 points clear in their domestic campaign. This is a great chance for them to rotate some younger players in and give their starters a rest. Odsonne Edouard has 9 goals in his last 14 games for Celtic. The Scottish Giants have to avoid a loss here to move on. Celtic haven’t lost at home to European competition this season. Also, they have a good habit of scoring first at home.

Besiktas at -151 for 2 units. In a wide open group, Besiktas advance without losing here. Malmo have to win to move on. Malmo FF haven’t played a competitive game in two weeks, as their domestic season ended a month ago. Vagner Love has come into form for Besiktas. Vodafone Park in Istanbul is not an easy place for opponents to come play. Besiktas have only lost twice at home in eighteen European matches. I want to make this a bigger play, but Besiktas only needing a draw keeps me from doing that.
