21-16-2 on College Football in 2019 up 17.63 units
Ohio -20.5 at -110 for 2 units. Bowling Green is not great at football. MACtion is awesome. Love Tuesday football. Ohio is 2-8 ATS this season, so they are favored by a lot for a reason. Miami had a lot of chunk plays last week against Bowling Green. I expect more of the same for Ohio tonight. Nathan Rourke is a solid dual-threat QB for Ohio. I’ll eat the points.
Virginia -14.5 at -115 for 3 units. Virginia has the best scoring defense in the country. They are top-10 in rebounding and not committing personal fouls as well. Mamadi Diakite, Kihei Clark, Braxton Key and Jay Huff are all good players. Virginia is missing key pieces from last year’s championship team, but they are still great at defense.
Pepperdine +11 at -102 for 2 units. USC is 4-0, but they haven’t played anybody amazing yet. Pepperdine is 3-1 with a loss to Cal. Colbey Ross is a talented guard for the Wave. Pepperdine have beat two NCAA tournament teams already this season. Nick Rakocevic is going to cause problems for the Pepperdine big men, but I like the Wave to keep it close.
Kentucky plays their first game since losing to Evansville. Kentucky is a 25 point favorite against a 3-1 Utah Valley team tonight. Evansville plays SMU tonight at home. That SMU matchup and the Willam & Mary/Oklahoma game are they only two matchups of undefeated teams tonight. Oklahoma is favored by 16 against Willam & Mary, but both teams have covered every game this season. Something has to give. The Tribe have two 7-footers in Nathan Knight and Andy Van Vliet. They can cause problems.
Auburn -16 at -120 for 4 units. Auburn is 3-0 at home. Colgate is 0-3 against the spread. The VCU-transfer Samir Doughty is playing well (18.5 / 7 / 2.8) in his senior year at Auburn. Freshman Isaac Okoro can shoot from deep and drive. I watched the Colgate-Clemson and Colgate-Syracuse games, Rapolas Ivanauskas and
Will Rayman are tall big men for Colgate, but Auburn has more athleticism on the wings. Bruce Pearl can use Auburn’s speed and coach around Colgate’s twin towers. Colgate was a tournament team last year that returns their 5 leading scorers. The Raiders will get some easy buckets, but Auburn will figure them out by halftime.
69-58-5 on the NFL last season (2018/19) up 26.36 units
31-43 on the NFL this season down 11.64 units
Cowboys -7 at -105 for 6 units. Top 8 offense vs bottom 8 defense here. The Lions don’t have a defense. No offense to Jeff Driskel, but Cowboys should be favored by 10 at least. Lions have given up almost 30 points a game over their past 6 games. Lions have been outsacked heavily over their last 6 games. Detroit is 1-5 over their last 6 games. You get it. Dak Prescott is 5-0 in his career against bottom-3 defenses, Detroit is 30th. Cooper, Gallup, and others will go off. Robert Quinn, Michael Bennett, Demarcus Lawrence, Vander Esch, and Jaylon Smith will make it hard for Driskel. Not going to overthink this one.
Bills/Dolphins over 41 at -110 for 3 units. These two teams played in Buffalo earlier this season and scored over 50 points. Miami is warmer and more touchdown friendly than Buffalo. FitzMagic is good for throwing touchdowns to his team and the other team. Dolphins have scored more than 16 points in 4 of their past 5 games. I like this spot.
Patriots -4 at -110 for 3 units. Patriots coming off of a loss and a BYE playing a team they lost to in a Super Bowl. Yeah, don’t need stats on this one. I’ll take the best football coach ever with two weeks to prepare.
Vikings/Panthers/Saints/Bills Parlay risking 2 units to win 4.63 units. Saints can’t lose to the Falcons and Bucs in back 2 back weeks right? Kirk Cousins has actually been good. Christian McCaffrey will run all over the Falcons. Josh Allen hasn’t thrown a pick in a while, his rushing and the Buffalo defense will get them the win.
France/Albania over 2.5 at -120 for 3 units. France looked like poor in their last match. They have already secured advancement however. 4 of Albania’s last 5 games have had 4 or more goals. France’s youngsters can score. Seems like this line should be higher. Giroud should start and get his poacher goal.
Portugal -2.5 at -105 for 2 units. Luxembourg doesn’t have the talent to stop Portugal from qualifying. Portugal moves on with a win. Ronaldo will have 100 international goals if he scores twice here. He knows this. He will try for it. Portugal have at least 3 goals in 4 of their last 6 away games. The 2016 defending champions will take care of business today.
19-15-2 on College Football in 2019 up 10.82 units
Hawaii -7 for 8 units. GET PUMPED FOR THE BATTLE OF THE GOLDEN PINEAPPLE. UNLV’s coach, Tony Sanchez, is going to get fired or resign soon. Some UNLV players are deff looking into the transfer portal. The over/under for this game is set at 73. This will be high-scoring game. UNLV gives up over 13 yards a completion. UNLV’s 34.4 points allowed a game is bottom-20 in the nation. The Running Rebels haven’t run the ball well, are out of the running for a bowl game, and are facing a top-20 scoring offense.
Boise State -27.5 at -110 for 3 units. New Mexico will be playing their first game since defensive end Nahje Flowers passed away. He stayed behind while his roommate went to class and appears to have committed suicide earlier this month. A sad reminder that many people are dealing with mental health issues. Do something nice for someone today!
Boise State have not covered their last 3 games, but are still favored by 27.5. I love these type of spots. New Mexico are out of the top-100 in points scored and points allowed. Not a good combo. Boise State is 8-1, but they haven’t been playing well over the past 3 weeks. They will want to shut the haters up and win big. Boise State’s coach, Bryan Harsin, had some awesome quotes this week on the haters.
“Twitiots.”
“Any idiot can say anything they want and they usually do and they’re negative,” Harsin said. “When people want to make comments on other things, it’s pretty pathetic at the end of the day … that’s society.
“That’s a group you don’t want to be a part of. … I’m not going to listen to opinions unless they matter.”
Penn State/Cincinnati/Appalachian State/Alabama Parlay for 4 units to win 2.71 units. Nothing sexy or sharp here, but all these will win. Is there such a thing as free money? Indiana is having one of the best seasons in school history, but I think Penn State will come out firing after losing to Minnesota last week. Whop Philyor is a stud wideout with an awesome name for the Hoosiers. IU’s o-line is not going to be able to hold up against Penn State’s D-line. Bama ain’t losing to Dak Prescott’s school. USF doesn’t have the offense to keep up with the Bearcats. Finally, App State just beat South Carolina, they won’t lose to Georgia State right? RIGHT?!? Ya’ll remember RJ Hunter and his dad falling off the chair in the NCAA tournament? Well, Ludacris and Julia Roberts went to Georgia State too. Super fun facts there.
England has qualified, even amidst the Gomez-Sterling dust-up. The Czech Republic, Ukraine, Spain, Poland, France, Turkey, Belgium, Russia, Italy, and…. Finland have already qualified. After 32 failed attempts and 81 years, Finland have made a major international tournament. Pukki, Tim Sparv, Joona Toivio and Jukka Raitala may be representing Finland’s golden generation right now.
Austria at -385 for 5 units. Austria beat North Macedonia 4-1 the last time they played. Arnautovic and Sabitzer are studs. Arnautovic had 4 star skills and was 6 foot 4 in Fifa 17, I fell in love with him. He was a poor man’s Ibra in Ultimate team. I digress, Austria will move on with a tie, but I think they won’t risk it and go for the win. Macedonia commits a lot of fouls and are not as disciplined in defense as Austria. I like this spot.
Idaho +5 at -110 for 3 units. UC Davis got beat by Loyola by 34 points. Idaho has some talented players like Trevon Allen, Marquell Fraser, Ja’Vary Christmas, and Quinton Forrest. The Red Wolves Classic gets underway in Arkansas with this game. I’ll take the points on a neutral court.
Harvard -9 at -110 for 3 units. This line has opened at -12.5, but heavy betting on Sienna has driven it to 9. I’ll jump in and fade the public and take Harvard to win by double digits. Harvard’s defense will be too much for the Saints.
St Mary’s -20 at -110 for 4 units. St Mary’s were favored by 19 against Winthrop and lost straight up. The Gaels are 0-2 ATS this season, but are favored by 20 against a California State Long Beach team that lost to UCLA by 4. Randy Bennett’s team returned 4 starters from last year’s NCAA tournament team. They will come out firing tonight. Malik Fitts can ball.
Florida (Basketball)/Bucks/Mavericks Knicks over 215/North Carolina +4 (Football)/Alabama (Football)/Penn State(Football)/Wake Forest +34/Hawaii -7/Appalachian State/Chiefs risking 1 unit to win 34.56 units.
Florida is coming off a loss to in-state rival Florida State. Towson is 2-1, but with wins against terrible basketball schools. The Gators have a lot more talent. The Bucks go up against the Bulls. The Bulls have been “easy” to bet on this season, as they have won and lost every game they were supposed to (except for the Hornets maybe). Giannis takes care of business. Mavericks play a Knicks team that they lost to last week. Dallas only scored 102 points in that game. They get at least 110 tonight.
North Carolina and Pittsburgh have played everybody close this season. Now they face each other, I’ll take the points. Alabama and Penn State will win coming off of tough losses. Wake Forest should keep it relatively close against Clemson. Wake has quietly been one of the best teams in the ACC this year. The over under for Hawaii UNLV is set at above 70. Hawaii have scored over 37 points in their last 3 games. Hawaii will simply outscore UNLV. App State is coming off a win against South Carolina. They will beat Georgia State. I like the Chiefs on Monday Night, but the line should move to 4 or 5 by gametime, so when the parlay makes it that far, you can sprinkle a little on Chargers +4 to guarantee winning money.
Switzerland/Austria/Florida/Penn State/Cincinnati/Appalachian State/Panthers/Saints/Bills Dolphins Over 41 risking 1 unit to win 8.24 units. A little Euro action to start this parlay. Switzerland and Austria both have in-form players against inferior opponents. Both countries will want to win too based on their group standings in these qualifiers. I wrote about Florida, Penn State, and App State above. Cincinnati had a scare against ECU, but rebounded for the 50 point win against UConn. They keep it going against USF. The Panthers and Saints are coming off of a loss. The Panthers didn’t have their LT and best CB against the Packers and the referees. They won’t have the refs sucking Rodgers off to compete against this week. CMC runs all over the Falcons. The Saints won’t lost to the Falcons and Buccaneers in back 2 back weeks right? RIGHT? Finally, Buffalo played Miami in Buffalo and there were 52 points scored in that game. 41 is too low for Fitzmagic and Josh Allen. Either could throw a pick 6 in this one. There will be at least 45 points in this game in Miami (barring a hurricane).
Will Wade was Shaka Smart’s first hire for VCU in 2009. Wade was an assistant on VCU’s Final Four team in 2011. Wade left the VCU program 4 days after losing to St. Mary’s in the NCAA tournament. Samir Doughty, Malik Crowfield, and De’Riante Jenkins were Wade’s big recruits for VCU. Doughty helped lead Auburn to a final four last year after transferring from VCU once Wade left. Jenkins and Crowfield are seniors and still play for VCU. They will want their revenge tonight.
Wade’s LSU was 25-5 last season, when the FBI came down on him hard for a phone conversation between Wade and former Adidas consultant Christian Dawkins. Wade cusses and says things like “I went to him with a [expletive] strong-ass offer about a month ago. [Expletive] strong.” The phone call was supposedly about Ja’Vonte Smart, who is averaging 11.1 points a game. How Will Wade is still coaching I don’t know. If the FBI can’t stop a coach from cheating, why are they even involved in college basketball?
Both LSU and VCU are loaded with experience. At the start of the season, I would have said VCU will win, but I went to the North Texas game at VCU.. The Rams didn’t play their best game, but they did go on a 20-0 run at one point and won the game. The close win knocked the Rams out of the top 25. LSU are #23. The Siegel Center will be loud and I expect it to be a close game. The teaser below is an emotional hedge of sorts because I want Will Wade to lose and VCU to win.
LSU +8½ / Northern Iowa -4½ / Villanova +6½ Teaser risking 4 units to win 5.45 units. I think the VCU/LSU game will be close. When Shaka Smart and the Longhorns came back to Richmond, Texas won by 4 in 2017. Then VCU won by 1 in Austin last season. These “former coach vs VCU” games are usually close. Villanova looked great against Army and I expect them to put up enough points to keep it close and prolly win against Ohio State. Northern Iowa will beat Cal State at home.
Syracuse -10.5 at -105 for 4 units. The Orange will like playing Colgate after losing to Virginia. UVA allowed Syracuse to score 34 points. Colgate will have a harder time on defense. Clemson beat Colgate by 13. I expect an even bigger win here for Cuse.
