MNF – Broncos @ Raiders

Broncos -2.5/Over 42.5 Parlay risking 2 units to win 5.27 units. I’ve lost 3 times this season betting against the Raiders… No way I can lose 4 times. The Raiders suck. Denver averages 3 sacks a game and they will be able to pressure Carr. Carr has been sacked a career high 47 times this season. Reminds me of David Carr on the Texans. Lindsay will reach 1,000 yards rushing tonight in his rookie season for Denver. The Broncos take out a little frustration on the Raiders tonight. I smell a defensive/special teams touchdown in this one. Neither team has a great defense though… Jared Cook will find some holes in the Broncos secondary. The Broncos ability to run the ball and get pressure on Carr wins them this game.

NFL Sunday – Week 16

Back to my bread and butter.

Vikings/Falcons/Packers/Bears Parlay risking 2 units to win 9.41 units. The Vikings will be able to sack Stafford. Dalvin Cook got going last week. Kirk Cousins is 6-1 in his career when he starts and throws the ball less than 25 times. Feed the Cook. Cam Newton is out. Matt Ryan is 3rd in the league in passing yards. If the Falcons can stop McCaffrey, they will win this game easily.

Aaron Rodgers is playing to focus on timing with his young wideouts. Packers are practicing for next year in this one. Rodgers doesn’t like to lose and if he is playing I have to bet on them against the Jets. Packers are winless on the road this season. They have never lost every road game in a 16 game season. Rodgers knows this. Bears are 10-0 this season when they hold their opponent to less than 24 points. Trubisky has struggled throwing it deep since his return from injury, which keeps me from betting the spread. I trust Chicago’s defense to get the win though.

Chiefs at -125 for 6 units. The Seahawks had way too many penalties last week in their loss to the 49ers. KC left the Chargers wideouts way too open in blowing two 14 points leads. Seattle is 0-4 this season against top 10 offenses. KC has the best offense. Must win game for both teams. Travis Kelce will have to be stopped, which will leave Tyreek Hill and others open. Seattle will have to play a near perfect game to win this one. I don’t think they will. Seattle was over 50% on 3rd and 4th down last week and had no turnovers, but still lost to the 49ers. Seattle is a tough place to play, but Mahomes and Reid will be ready.

College Basketball Saturday – UNC/Kentucky

5-7-1 this season up 1.69 units

Florida State/Colorado/UNC parlay risking 1.5 units to win 2.58 units. UNC scored 103 points against Gonzaga and now they play a Kentucky defense that is not as good. Luke Maye plays against the team he knocked out of the tournament two years ago. Sorry Malik Monk and De’Aaron Fox. Kabengele and Mann will be too much for St Louis. FSU wins at home. Colorado has won 6 in a row. Also, they are bigger and better at defense than Indiana State. Larry Bird’s alma mater loses today. 

Georgia Tech/West Virginia/Texas A&M/Virginia -19.5 parlay risking 1.5 units to win 3.98 units. Alvarado and Georgia Tech’s defense are enough to beat in-state rival Georgia. William & Mary won’t be able to score against UVA. UVA continues their domination of the state in basketball. Texas A&M are too big for Marshall and the Aggies play better at home. West Virginia will beat a smaller Jacksonville State team at home.

4-3 on Bowls up 2.88 units

Memphis -3 at -120 for 5 units. I could give you “advanced” numbers, but I have to wrap Christmas presents. Just know Memphis has a better ATS record, offense, defense, QB, and are closer to the game location. This should be -7. I can’t see Wake Forest stopping Darrell Henderson running the ball.

Houston/Army under 60 for 2 units. I’ll keep this one simple too.. Army haven’t had a game over this number all year. ALL YEAR!! I have only watched 2 Houston games this season, but I don’t think they are good enough to knock Army off their gameplan. Houston’s two best players are sitting this one out. Army runs the ball too much for this over to hit.

Buffalo/Troy over 49 for 2 units. Buffalo averages 35 points a game and struggles against good running backs. BJ Smith should eat for Troy. I think Buffalo is better, but proximity of the game to Troy and Neal Brown’s 2-0 bowl record with Troy make me stay away from picking a winner.

Luka Jovic vs Bayern – Lazio Get Back to Winning

Real Betis at -126 for 3 units. The Andalucian side are led by Giovani Lo Celso who has scored 4 goals in his last 5 games. Betis are solid at home and have 12 points from their last 5 games. They keep rolling here against an Eibar team that hasn’t won in their past 3 away games.

Atletico Madrid at -236 for 3 units. Espanyol are in the worst form in the league. Atletico hasn’t lost at home all season. This should be -400 or more. Value.

Leipzig/Werder Bremen under 3 at +111 for 3 units. I think Leipzig get up 1-0 and then batten down the hatches. Leipzig have the best defense in the league and they are even better at home. Past 3 matches between these two have gone under this number. Just like this spot. The number should be 2.5.

Eintracht Frankfurt +1.5 at -159 for 5 units. Luka Jovic, Luka Jovic, Luka Jovic, and Sebastien Haller. I will keep writing about these two until every soccer fan knows them. They are great. Bayern have been rounding into form (barely), but Frankfurt have been hot all season. I don’t think Bayern will win this game by 2 on the road. Frankfurt have scored in their last 10 home matches. Bayern is still shaky at the back. Hummels lacks the pace and Boateng isn’t fit. Robben, Sanches, Tolisso, and James Rodriquez are all out for Bayern. Alaba and Kimmich are great at going forward, but Frankfurt can catch them out of position. I see a 2-1, 2-2 type game here.

Napoli/Lazio/Arsenal/Chelsea Parlay risking 4 units to win 6.08 units. Arsenal have won their past 6 homes games against Burnley. They have averaged 3 goals in those matches. This Arsenal team is better than some of those Arsenal teams as well. Chelsea haven’t lost at Stamford Bridge all season. Leicester have not won in their last 8 matches at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have only lost twice this season, but are still 8 points behind Liverpool. They have to win these home games if they want the title. Lazio are in the midst of their worse domestic form since 2009; however, Lazio has won their last 7 matches against Cagliari at home. Cagliari have conceded first in 7 of 8 away games this season. Like Chelsea, Napoli are 8 points behind the league leaders (Juve) and haven’t lost at home all season.

Warriors couldn’t pull out a win against the Jazz and the Timberwolves lost my parlay in overtime in what was an 18 unit swing. Trailer Park Boys taught me that “that is just the way she goes” sometimes. Like some spots tonight..

Pistons +4.5 for 4 units. Charlotte has already beat the Pistons twice this season, but I like Detroit here. Charlotte hates being above .500 it seems and this win would put them there. Drummond and Griffin play well against Zeller, Marvin Williams, and MKG. I like the Pistons here because of the healthy Reggie Bullock. Bullock made 7 threes last time out. He is hot. Pistons got dominated on the free throw line in their last loss to Charlotte. I love the Hornets, but I don’t trust them beating any team 3 times in a row.

Magic -2 for 4 units. Bulls suck.

Kings at -127 for 4 units. Grizzlies have lost 4 in a row and Kings have looked good this season. Buddy Hield is a year older than we thought he was.. Would the Kings have traded Boogie if this info was known? Who knows. I do know that it doesn’t matter if Buddy is 25 or 26 because he has improved every year he has been in the league. I’d take him on my team for an expiring Boogie contract. Grizzlies are banged up. Good spot for Sacramento to get back to winning.

College Basketball Starts to Heat Up

Butler/Cal/Charleston/LSU Parlay risking 4 units to win 3.64 units. Kamar Baldwin and Butler have been solid to start the season. UC Irvine are 11-2, but Hinkle Fieldhouse is not an easy place to play. Butler has beat Florida and Ole Miss this season. Butler is favored by 10, which is about right, but I like them to win straight up at home. Cal hasn’t looked good this season, but luckily for them, they play a bad San Jose St team at home tonight. LSU plays #24 Furman tonight at home. LSU is coming off a good win vs Saint Mary’s. Furman beat Villanova earlier this year. LSU will be ready for them. Charleston is 5-1 at home, while Coastal Carolina is 1-4 on the road.

Two Top Bundesliga Teams Meet

Dortmund at -183 for 4 units. No not Bayern. League Leaders Dortmund welcome second place Monchengladbach to the Westfalenstadion. Dortmund lost midweek, but they didn’t start Sancho or Alcacer. Once, Sancho and Alcacer came on, Dortmund looked the better team. The lineup Favre put out, wasn’t the best in that game against Dusseldorf. Dortmund will play their strongest lineup today. Pulisic struggled midweek and I hope he plays better if he gets another start. Thorgan Hazard and Plea have been playing great for Monchengladbach, but Dortmund’s offense is more explosive at home. Should be a fun match to watch..

Bowl Season Continues

You know it is Bowl Season when FIU plays Toledo at noon on a Friday in the Bahamas. I love it.

Toledo -7 at -105 for 2 units.

Toledo/FIU over 57 for 4 units. Toledo scores over 41 points a game. The Rockets have scored over 50 in their last 2. FIU tends to pass the ball more than they run. FIU will be without their starting QB as Butch David didn’t want to risk further injury. Davis said, “If the bowl game was another week or 10 days” he would have played. Sounds like Butch is throwing major shade at his team for not making the college football playoff… Nah but seriously, Toledo is going to run it up. Cody Thompson, Diontae Johnson and Jon’Vea Johnson are all good wideouts for Toledo. FIU is 1-4 in games where their opponent scores more than 25 points.

BYU -10 at -150 for 2 units. Smurf Turf Blue Field time. BYU wins easily. Zach Wilson is solid. BYU has already lost on this field this season against Boise, but the get a win here.

College Basketball – Roy Williams Signs 8 Year Extension

Roy and his 3 National Championships in Chapel Hill are staying 8 more years. He will make a little less than 3 million a year before sponsorships and other bonuses. Roy will be 77 when this contract runs out. Roy is a top 3 coach in college basketball and UNC should keep him as long as he wants to coach. Matt Doherty is not missed.

Wild parlay tonight. I can’t seem to win in college basketball this season like I can in other sports, but here’s to getting it back in one swoop. Feeling Lucky. All Money Lines.

Old Dominion/Virginia/Mississippi St/Arizona/Texas A&M/Cincy/Fresno St Parlay risking 3 units to win 11.96 units. UVA’s defense will be too much for South Carolina. Old Dominion is just better than Richmond. ODU has beat Syracuse and VCU. Richmond just lost to Oral Roberts. Valparaiso will struggle with Texas A&M’s size. Wofford has only lost Kansas, UNC, and Oklahoma this season, but Mississippi State’s defense will be too much for Wofford on the road. Montana hasn’t won an away game all year and now they travel to Arizona… UCLA hasn’t played a road game all year and now they travel to Cincy… Cal isn’t that great this season and Fresno is 5-0 at home. Fresno also has more size and better shooting.

If I had to pick one out that will lose, it would be Mississippi State because Wofford has played better teams tough, but I like them all.
