ATP Finals – Thiem Vs. Federer

87-43-6 on tennis up 34.49 units

Federer -3 at -120 for 5 units. If Roger loses today, he most likely will not make it past the group stage here for only the second time in his career (16 appearances). Roger has a 15-0 record in the second match of this group stage. The Swiss has not lost 3 matches in a row since 2002. He is on a two match losing streak. Let me say that again, Roger Federer has not lost 3 matches in a row since 2002! Tiger Woods was not even engaged to Elin Nordegren at that point. Soak up the Sun, Hot in Here, and Lose Yourself were just coming out. Unreal. Dominic Thiem actually leads the H2H 2-1, but they have not met since 2016. Neither is in great form, but Federer will get up for this match and use his return game a lot better than he did in the first match.

Sorry I did not have plays on the semifinals and finals of The Paris Masters. I just did not have a strong lean in any of those matches so did not want to force it. The Tennis season is coming to an end, but I am going to try and squeeze 10 more units out of it. I am going to end the season somewhere between up 15 units, and up 45 units.

Frances Tiafoe at -180 for 7 units. Full disclosure, I have only watched two Hubert Hurkacz matches in my life and both were loses to Marin Cilic. Tiafoe has not been in his best form at the end of this season, but he did win his maiden tour title this year at Delray Beach. Tiafoe hasn’t lost to a player less talented than him since Baghdatis in July. Hurkacz is less talented than him. Hurkacz also retired in his last match. Tiafoe has more experience, more fitness, and the higher ceiling. Not going to overthink it.

Federer -4.5 at -108 for 3 units. Federer is one of the few people that are more talented in the game of tennis than Fabio Fognini. I love betting on Fognini, but not today. Roger has won all 3 previous meeting in straight sets. Roger is going for the 100th title of his illustrious career. Fabio hasn’t won here in Paris in his last 6 trips. The Italian is having the best season of his career, but Federer’s return game will be too much for him. Fognini has been broken easily over his past few matches and I expect that to continue today.

Only had one play yesterday, I like more spots today.

John Isner at -215 for 3 units. Isner was a runner up here in 2016 and lost in the semis here last season. He likes playing in Paris. Mikhail Kukshkin has some solid recent matches getting wins agains Rublev, Herbert, and the in-form Fucsovics. Isner’s serve will be too much for Mikhail, like it was in the first 3 H2Hs.

Roger Federer -2.5 at -118 for 6 units. Raonic is out of form. Bad time to play Roger. Federer looked great in winning in his hometown of Basel last week. He could be a little tired, but he has beat Raonic in straight sets the last two times they have played. Roger won on 86% of his first serve point the last time they met, and thus was not broken in that match.

Richard Gasquet at -320 for 2 units. Jack Sock has sucked this year.

Fabio Fognini at +103 for 1 unit.

Grigor Dimitrov at +116 for 1 unit. Fognini and Dimitrov are in worse form than their opponents, but more talented. Revenge match for Fognini.

Karen Khachanov at -390 for 4 units. Matthew Ebden didnt qualify and is only here because Kyle Edmund withdrew. Khachanov is in a lot better form at the moment. Khachanov is more talented, a better returner, and should get the win in this one. Khachanov won 80% of his first serve points, along with winning over 40% of his return points in the last round vs Filip Krajinovic. The Russian is playing great tennis.

Tennis – The Paris Masters

78-42-4 on tennis up 15.89 units

Roberto Bautista-Agut at -260 for 4 units. Steve Johnson is on a 5 match losing streak. Bautista-Agut has won all 5 of the previous H2Hs. Roberto’s return game will be too strong for Johnson’s out of form service.

Philipp Kohlschreiber at -160 for 4 units. Robin Haase was winless in his last 6 matches before Paris. He lost in straight sets to Kohlschreiber the only other time they met on this surface. Philipp is the more consistent player and that will show over the course of this match.

Richard Gasquet at -138 for 4 units. Gasquet has been playing well recently. Denis Shapovalov has lost 4 of the past 5 matches he has played in in straight sets. The young Canadian will be more than talented than Gasquet in the coming years if he keeps progressing, but the Frenchman will win this one.

Gasquet/Bautista-Agut/Kohlschreiber Parlay risking 1 unit to win 2.7 units.

Tennis – Swiss Indoors and Vienna Open Semis

77-41-4 on tennis up 16.89 units

Daniil Medvedev at +235 for 2 units. Federer has not looked his best this week in Basel. Daniil is currently sitting at a career high ranking and will fancy his chances. Medvedev is 18-4 on indoor hardcourts this season. Roger is working himself back into top fitness and will struggle in this one. I like the value here even though Medvedev is 1-7 against the top 10 in his career.

Kevin Anderson at -203 for 2 units. Fernando Verdasco has won the last two meetings between these two, but Anderson has been playing better tennis this year. Anderson should get enough easy points off of his serve to win this one. The South African should be fresher as well. Anderson has a good chance here to get his first title since February.

Tennis October 25th – Swiss Indoors – Roger Federer

Fognini rolling his ankle mid-match yesterday hurt, back at it today.

Roger Federer at -480 for 5 units. Jan-Lennard Struff has never won a set against Roger (0-8). Federer’s hometown here. Should be an easy one.

Daniil Medvedev at -238 for 3 units. Medvedev is in fantastic form and is 16-4 on indoor hardcourts this season. Daniil lost to Seppi in the only H2H meeting in a close match, but Daniil is in a lot better form than then. He will get his revenge today.

Tennis October 24th – Swiss Indoors and The Vienna Open

73-40-4 on tennis up 17.99 units

Gael Monfils at -150 for 2 units. If Monfils is fit he will win. He played 5 matches in Antwerp last week and has been retiring this season, but he is the better player than Steve Johnson. I can’t pass up this value.

Roberto Bautista-Agut at -317 for 4 units. Roberto has a 4-1 H2H lead on indoor hardcourts. Sousa has been in pitiful form besides Shanghai. I want to make this a max play, but Roberto has lost matches he just shouldn’t before..

Fabio Fognini at -163 for 6 units. Fognini won the only other H2H against Fucsovics in straight sets. It always take some balls betting big units on Fognini in back 2 back days, pero tengo huevos. I bet on Marton Fucsovics in the last round, but Fabio is too talented for him. Once again Fognini’s ankle is the only thing that keeps me from making this a max play. The Italian #1 has a good opportunity in this tournament to get his Italian record of 4 tournament wins in a season. Thiem and Anderson and the only two people in this tournament that can truly challenge him if he is healthy.

Tennis October 23rd – Vienna Open

71-39-4 on tennis up 15.23 units

John Isner at -148 for 3 units. Isner will get revenge on Cameron Norrie here. Isner is one of 3 players fighting for the final spot of the ATP World Tour Finals. Neither one of these players have been that great on hard surfaces this season, but Isner is the more talented player. Norrie is only here as a lucky loser.

Fabio Fognini at -148 for 7 units. Damir Dzumhur is in terrible form. Fognini lost to him last time out and will get revenge today. Fognini looked solid in Stockholm, while Damir hasn’t looked good since Turkey. The Italian #1 is the far more talented player and he is still going for the Italian record 4th tournament win in a year. That should be enough motivation for him. The health of Fognini’s ankle keeps me from making this a max play.

Kohlschreiber, Philipp at -153 for 4 units. Kohlschreiber does well in the high altitudes of Austria. Lucas Pouille won this tournament last season, but he has never won a set on hardcourts against the German. Both players are talented, but Kohlschreiber is in better form.
