ATP Rome – Internazionali BNL d’Italia Preview

91-44-6 on tennis in 2018 up 42.63 units

36-41 on tennis in 2019 down 29.53 units

Nadal won this event last year. Djokovic and Nadal have won this event all but two times since 2004. It’s 2019. Nadal hasn’t won a title so far in 2019. He will want to win here before Roland Garros. Thiem and Tsitsipas are hot. Nadal and Djokovic dominate this tournament. Federer is Federer. Should be another exciting tournament like Madrid was.

Felix Auger-Aliassime at -115 for 6 units. FAA beat Coric in Miami this year. Coric is 0-2 in the main draw here in Rome. FAA is 5-1 in opening rounds on clay this year. Borna Coric is out-of-form. FAA’s ability to chase down balls and play winners will be enough here.

Gael Monfils at -288 for 6 units. Monfils has played 3 matches against Albert Ramos-Vinolas and won all 3 in straight sets. Monfils looked solid in Madrid. Both players are in decent form, but Monfils can decide the winner of this match.

ATP Rome Gets Underway – Will Roger Federer Participate?

91-44-6 on tennis in 2018 up 42.63 units

36-40 on tennis in 2019 down 24.53 units

Taylor Fritz/Martin Klizan/Reilley Opelka -1 Parlay risking 5 units to win 8.14 units. Fritz and Klizan are not going to lose. Opelka beat Gulbis 2-0 in their only other meeting on clay. Opelka is having a better clay season than he did last year, when he beat Gulbis. Gulbis has lost 9 matches in a row and 6 in a row on clay. Opelka’s serve will be enough to move on. A lot of units for a parlay in tennis, but I didn’t go up 42 units last year on tennis by being a Pus—- Michael Cera-type. I still love Superbad… Jonah Hill and Emma Stone have great chem. They would have highlighted green bars in fifa ultimate team.  Emma Stone is good-looking enough to be a co-star in a film with Ryan Gosling. Yes it was 8 years ago, but she is good-looking enough to be in Crazy, Stupid, Love as a lead with him. Gingers are hot.

ATP Madrid

91-44-6 on tennis in 2018 up 42.63 units

40-35 on tennis in 2019 down 31.45 units

Nadal -1.5 sets at -130 for 9 units. Wawrinka has played 16 sets against Nadal on clay in his career and lost them all.

Toronto Raptors at Philadelphia 76ers Prediction

Writer: Sean Sloan

Sean’s record 1-0 up 0.71 units

This Toronto/Philly series has been wildly unpredictable. There have been two 5-point losses by each team in games 2 and 4, but between those close games were double-digit blowouts. The average margin of victory in this series is 16 points (largely due to the 36-point blowout by the Raptors in Game 5). The total for Game 6 is set at 212. Of the 5 games played the total has gone over 212 on one occurrence, which was Game 5 where the Raptors managed to score 125 points. Using 106 as the number each team would need to score in order to push, I looked at how many times each team scored more than 106. Toronto has scored more than 106 two times (Game 1 and Game 5), and Philly has scored more than 106 one time (Game 3). Every time either of these teams have scored more than 106 they were at home. The average total of the two games played in Philly thus far is 204. Philly, as mentioned earlier, is averaging 98 ppg this series and has cracked 100 points one time.
In Game 5, Philly looked defeated. I know Embiid wasn’t himself, but there was no fight. I think Toronto closes this series out tonight in a close game, but I am more confident in this total going under 212. The Drake curse is a real thing, there is absolutely no denying that. I think Toronto will have to get a little more confidence from the public built up before the Drake curse kicks in. I see Toronto getting heartbroken when all is said and done, but not just yet.

My play: Toronto Raptors/Philadelphia 76ers u212 – 1U

ATP Madrid Continues – Great Lineup Today

91-44-6 on tennis in 2018 up 42.63 units

39-33 on tennis in 2019 down 27.40 units

Fognini/Thiem meet. Thiem won in Barcelona without losing a set this year (beat Nadal in the semis) and Fognini won Monte Carlo last week.

Chardy/Djokovic meet. The Joker has won 28 sets against Chardy and lost none. Either Chardy is playing the long game… or Novak has his number.

Federer faces the in-form Monfils. Tsitsipas goes up against home-favourite Verdasco. The best American on clay this season, Tiafoe, goes up against the best clay player ever in Nadal. Should be fun.

Monfils +4 at -132 for 3 units. Federer is going for back 2 back wins here in Madrid for the first time since 2012, when he won on the blue clay. Monfils has made the quarterfinals in all 5 ATP World Tour events he has entered this season. Federer hasn’t been in the best form this season and just returned to clay after a lengthy layoff. Monfils has a solid chance to beat Federer for the 5th time in his career today.

Laslo Djere at +122 for 3 units. Djere has been hot for a while. Cilic has experience on clay, but it is still up for debate if he has found his form this year. You take the coin flip at plus money.

Thiem at -257 for 4 units. The conditions here in Madrid are good for Thiem. Thiem will hit the ball hard (like he always does) and make Fognini run. Fabio doesn’t like to run all that much. Fognini has played a lot of tennis lately and will be confident for The French Open after winning the Masters 1000 in Monte Carlo. Thiem has a larger margin for error in this match; whereas, if Fognini is missing his first serve, Thiem is going to work him. I think Thiem takes advantage of Fognini’s second serve and backhand.

Avalanche at Sharks Prediction

Writer: Sean Sloan

I’m liking the Sharks tonight. They are 3-0 in elimination games this postseason. This series has been tight, total goals are Avs: 16 Sharks: 17. Both teams are 1-2 on the road, so that favors the home team here. No team has been able to get back to back wins all series, which also points to the Sharks. Pavelski may be making his return, and I think it is a good possibility he does make his return. With Pavelski added to the lineup I think the gives the Sharks an emotional boost, as well as adds their captain into the lineup. On top of Pavelski’s possible bump to the team, the Sharks have been shutting down MacKinnon and Rantanen as of late holding them point-less in Game 5 and Game 6, which I don’t know if they will be able to do in Game 7. The Sharks have outshot the Avs in this series 183-161, with the highest shot total between either team being the last game played in San Jose where the Sharks took 39 shots and got the win in Game 5. The Sharks are averaging 30.5 shots per game compared to the Avs 26.83, and in San Jose the Sharks are averaging 33 shots compared to the Avs 27 shots. I expect this game to be tight as expected in most Game 7s. I see the Sharks outshooting the Avs, similar to Game 5 where the shots were 39-22 in favor of the Sharks. San Jose gets it done in front of a rowdy home crowd.

My Play: San Jose Sharks ML (-140) – 1U

Lucas Moura Puts Tottenham on His Back

Wow. After Liverpool came back from 3-0 down against Barcelona yesterday, I thought the Champions League was out of magic. Lucas Moura proved me wrong. Ajax were up 3-0 on Tottenham on aggregate at halftime… Tottenham are moving on thanks to the second-half Lucas Moura hattrick.

You can’t write Champions League any better. Ziyech and Ajax had their chances to put the game away, but they did not advantage. Liverpool – Tottenham will play in the Champions League Final.

Warriors at Rockets Prediction

4-1 on the NBA playoffs up 4.76 units

Warriors +1 at -110 for 4 units. Durant has put his team on his back with some contributions from Iggy and Green.. tonight he gets some more help. Steph stops missing his layups, Klay shoots better, and the Warriors take a 3-1 series lead. Curry played horribly and the Warriors still took Houston to overtime in Game 3.

MLB May 6th – Christian Yelich Homers in Return

92-83 on MLB last season and went up 34.31 units

3-3 on MLB this season up 0.86 units

Brewers/Rays parlay risking 3 units to win 5.78 units. Max Scherzer hasn’t been his normal self this season. His Strikeout/Walk ratio is still great, but he’s been giving up a good amount of hits. Brewers play better in Night games. Chacin only gave up two hits in his last start for the Brewers. Yelich is back. Chacin is 5-2 with a 2.88 ERA in 10 career starts against Washington. Rendon, Turner, and Zimmerman are all out for Washington.

Blake Snell will slow down the Diamondbacks and their 13-7 record on the road.

Adam Eaton over 1.5 hits at +150 for 1 unit. Eaton is 4-14 vs Chacin in his career. His familiarity will help him out.

Cinco De Mayo MLB

92-83 on MLB last season and went up 34.31 units

3-2 on MLB this season up 3.86 units

Cardinals at +122 for 3 units. I’ll keep it simple. Goldschmidt, Ozuna, Martinez, and Fowler are all batting over .400 against Quintana in their careers. Nobody in Chicago’s starting lineup is batting over .300 against Wainwright. St. Louis has struggled against lefties this season (league worse .203 batting average against lefties), but I like them at plus money today.
