NBA Thursday – The Bad Get Worse

61-53-2 on NBA in 2018 up 9.28 units

14-13-2 on NBA this season up 1.79 units

Ayyyy, finally up on NBA this season. I love Kemba Walker. Kemba put the team on his back down 11 with a little over 6 minutes to go. Kemba gave up the final shot to Jeremy Lamb who drained it and won me my(our) bet. Malik Monk got so excited during Lamb’s shot he ran on the court a little too soon and got a tech. Pistons got a free throw, but in the end it didn’t matter. I am glad it happened as a Hornets fan because we got this awesome-warm-hearted moment between MJ and Monk. Mj smacked him upside the head lol. Monk played well in the game. Bridges and Monk are both only 20 years old and should be ballers for years to come. RESIGN KEMBA NOW!!

Started off the season horribly, but rebounded nicely like Bradley Beal last night. Kyrie went berserk in overtime and the Celtics got the win over the struggling Wizards. Time to bet against some more struggling teams tonight…

Magic/Mavs Parlay risking 4 units to win 4.08 units. Magic have lost 7 of their last 10, but the Bulls have lost 9 of their last 10. The Bulls give up 110 points a game and barely score 100 a game. This game is in Mexico at Mexico City’s Arena Ciudad de Mexico. Evan Fournier and Mo Bamba should be back in the lineup for Orlando. Vucevic can’t play worse than he did against Dallas, shooting 4-15 from the field. The Bulls have formed a leadership committee… A professional NBA team has formed a leadership committee. Even the Knicks and Dolan are laughing at that.. The Bulls have won their last 5 meetings against Orlando, but Chicago loses tonight.

The Mavs will want revenge for their opening night 21 point loss to the Suns. The Suns have gone 3-21 since that win. Devin Booker is still out for Phoenix. He said he was sick of playing for a team that doesn’t make the playoffs, so it is fitting he has missed the last 5 or so games. Dirk is back for the Magic. It is wild Steve Nash is commentating on Champions League soccer games for TNT, while Dirk is still trying to dunk in the NBA. I love Dirk and Nash. Dallas got outrebounded in the first matchup, DeAndre Jordan will have to be the beast he is tonight. Harrison Barnes has been heating up. I like this spot.

Lakers +6 for 3 units. Rockets have been playing poorly this season. Lebron and the Lakers have been playing a lot better of late. Lakers are 7-3 in last 10. Rockets are 3-7 in last 10. Lebron is averaging 28.3 PPG on 52.1% shooting. He is still great, but how bout you get above 70% from the free throw line Bron Bron. Ariza and Anderson are missed for the Rockets as their bench sucks. James Ennis is out for Houston, which means Gordon has to start. That further hurts their bench. Kuzma is averaging 21 and 9 in his last 7 games without Ingram. I think they should trade Ingram and a first for Beal. Lebron needs another shooter around him IMO.

NBA Wednesday – Hornets take the 6th seed (I hope)

61-53-2 on NBA in 2018 up 9.28 units

12-12-2 on NBA this season down 1.04 units

Celtics at -166 for 6 units. Celtics are starting to put together some wins after their struggles at the start of the season. The Wizards are, well, still struggling. Otto Porter is a game-time decision. Celtics should be close to full strength after sitting 5 in their win against the Pelicans. Boston has a better coach, bench, defense, and are playing better. Only thing that keeps me from making this a max play is the fact that it is in Washington.

Hornets at -246 for 3 units. Charlotte has had Detroit’s number of late. Winner of this game secures the 6th seed in the East (for now). Hornets are 9-5 at home. Pistons have lost 5 in a row and are 4-6 on the road. Hornets will make enough 3s to win this game. Charlottes shoots about 5% better at home. Tony Parker went off with 24 points for the Hornets the first time these two met. Miles Bridges will give Blake’s dunking ability a run for his money. Hornets play better at home, are hotter than the Pistons, and have a better bench/less injury concerns.

Thunder at -127 for 2 units. Paul George is playing well. The Thunder should make Tim Frazier try and guard Westbrook if they want to win. Steven Adams is a good counter to Anthony Davis. The Pelicans just lost to the Celtics “B” team. The Pelicans give up 115 points a game, while the Thunder only give up 104 points a game. It is amazing the Thunder turned Carmelo into Schroder. Sam Presti is a wizard with that shit. The Thunder are 14-1 this season against teams with a losing record.

NBA Tuesday

61-53-2 on NBA in 2018 up 9.28 units

11-11-1 on NBA this season up 0.08 units

The Thunder covering against a struggling Jazz team, Kings beating a dysfunctional Bulls team, and the Lakers showtiming D Wade and the Heat were all easy to see for me. Kuzma back in the lineup is a plus for the Lakers. Kuzma dropped 33 and 7 last night. I like Kuzma. In that clip I posted, when Lonzo makes a terrible decision to pass when he has an open layup, Kuzma just looks at him like “What the hell man?” I like that. The Jazz are 13th in the West ahead of only the Suns and, yes, you guessed it, the Rockets. Speaking of the Rockets..

Blazers +7 at -115 for 3 units. Rockets shouldn’t be favored by 7 against a playoff team. The Blazers won the first meeting 104-85. Harden did not play in that game. Trevor Ariza was a big loss for this Houston team. His above average defense, great 3-point shooting, and leadership is missed. I just think this will be a close game. If you’re feeling lucky you can sprinkle a little on the Blazers money line and then go to a bar near you.

Spurs/Suns over 217 for 3 units. 5 of the last 6 San Antonio games have gone over this number. Both teams allow over 113 points a game. TJ Warren coming back helps the Suns score. Devin Booker is still out. Suns don’t play much defense and hopefully that continues tonight.

Raptors ML at -160 for 3 units. Clippers jumped out to a hot start this season, but have been moving back to the mean over the past two games. That will continue tonight against one of the best teams in the league so far this season. Kawhi Leonard can ball. Luc Mbah a Moute is still out for the Clippers. LA struggled against the zone when they played the Heat. I wouldn’t be shocked if the Raptors throw out a zone tonight. Raptors are 10-3 on the road this season. Kawhi went to Martin Luther King High School in Riverside right outside of LA, so he will want to play well in his return home. Just like this spot.

NBA December 10th

61-53-2 on NBA in 2018 up 9.28 units

8-11-1 on NBA this season down 10.84 units

Kings at -127 for 5 units. Bulls don’t even want to practice for their coach. That organization needs a rebuild starting at the top. This Kings team has played hard all year and I expect that to continue tonight.

Thunder -5 at -105 for 5 units. Jazz have lost their last 2 away games. Paul George has been playing great of late. Thunder will get a win after losing to the Jazz in the playoffs last season. Thunder have won 16 of last 20.

Lakers at -225 for 5 units. Last meeting ever between Lebron and D Wade. Lebron scored 50 last time they met. Lebron and the Lake show win here. Lakers play a lot better at home (10-4). Hassan Whiteside, Dion Waiters, and Wayne Ellington did not make the trip for the Heat. Ellington 3-point shooting will be missed.

College Basketball December 8th

70-62-2 on NCAAB last season and went up 8.95 units

3-6-1 this season down 9.91 units

VCU upsetting Texas ruined my parlay, but as a VCU fan.. I was happy. I honestly didn’t think VCU had enough size to compete with the Texas forwards. The Rams don’t have the best offensive team this season, but they are balances and solid on defense. Virginia will be a big test for them tomorrow.

Florida St/Pepperdine -17 Parlay risking 4 units to win 5.67 units. FSU’s big men, Christ Koumadje and Mfiondu Kabengele will be too much for UConn. Phil Cofer is out for FSU, but Mann and the big men should do enough. Uconn has improved this season with 6 wins over mid major and a win over then ranked #15 Syracuse, but I still like FSU. Pepperdine has lost two in a row, but now is favored by 17 against Jackson St. Pepperdine plays a lot better at home, where the 3 ball falls a littler more often for them. Colby Ross will ball out for the Waves.

College Basketball – December 5th

70-62-2 on NCAAB last season and went up 8.95 units

3-5-1 this season down 5.91 units

Ohio State/Old Dominion/Texas Parlay risking 4 units to win 4.08 units. Illinois have lost to every power conference school this season. Ohio State should take care of business behind Andre and Kaleb Wesson. William & Mary are not as good as they used to be with Marcus Thornton and Omar Prewitt graduating in the past few years. Old Dominion dominates the all-time series and gets another win here. VCU lost to Old Dominion this season and now plays their former coach in Shaka Smart and Texas. VCU almost beat Mo Bamba and Texas last season in Richmond, but they won’t be as close this season.

College Basketball – November 13th

70-62-2 on NCAAB last season and went up 8.95 units

2-3-1 this season down 5.74 units

Stanford had 3 chances to score a basket to cover the +17 against UNC’s practice squad at the end of the game, but couldn’t do it. Then both of my money line favorite play covered the spread easy so I lost some value there. Just how my young college basketball season has been going.

Tennessee State -6 for 5 units. Arkansas Little Rock was one of the worst teams in college basketball last season and needed overtime to beat a D2 school in their opener. Fade Little Rock.

Pepperdine +10.5 for 3 units. Pepperdine cane shoot from deep and that will help them cover this spread. Northern Colorado and Pepperdine both smacked a D2 school in their opening game, so this line confuses me a little, but not enough to scare me away.

Georgia Tech +16 for 2 units. Tennessee returns a lot of players this year and they deserve to be highly ranked, but this line is just too high for me. Jose Alvarado has the ability to be an All-ACC type player for GT this season. Brandon Alston is a solid senior guard as well. Strong guard play will help the Yellow Jackets cover against a more talented Tennessee team. Shembari Phillips, the transfer from Tennessee, can give GT some inside scouting..

NBA – November 13th

61-53-2 on NBA in 2018 up 9.28 units

8-10-1 on NBA this season down 7.84 units

Took a break from NBA because I was losing. Been watching the games and feel confident getting back on the horse tonight. The refs have been so bad this early season. I mean that 6th foul on Kevin Durant in overtime against the Clippers was a joke and sealed the win for the Clippers. The Hornets got robbed in Philly against the 76ers and the league admitted it. These NBA refs make me appreciate how good the NFL refs have been this season honestly. I am not blaming the refs for my poor results so far this season, but it dampens the watchability of the product on the court.

Rockets/Nuggets over 214.5 for 3 units. Houston shot a lot better in their last game against the Pacers than they were in the first few games before. Too many players can get hot in this one and send this over to bet the under. I think this number should be around 220 so I will bite.

College Basketball November 12th

70-62-2 on NCAAB last season and went up 8.95 units

0-2-1 this season down 5.00 units

VCU at -350 for 4 units. VCU plays well at the Siegel Center. Bowling Green played well against St. Johns, but let the game slip away in the second half. Justin Turner can ball for Bowling. VCU has a more balanced approach than they have had in the past few years. Justin Tillman is playing basketball professionally in Korea now, while Mo-Alie Cox is catching touchdowns for the Colts. Those two dominant big men are gone, but Issac Vann, Sean Mobley, Mike’l Simms, Michael Gilmore, Malik Crowfield, and De’Riante Jenkins can all ball. VCU wins at home.

Stanford +17 for 3 units. This UNC team is flying under the radar a little bit (Zion and Duke getting all the love) as they are balanced and talented. Maye is still there and Nassir Little is a beast of a freshman. Cameron Johnson finally looks to be healthy for UNC and has been paying well. Kenny Williams (the former VCU commit) can drain some 3s. Stanford is by far the most talented team UNC has played this season. Stanford beat a solid UNCW team on this east coast swing and will look to play well again here. Kezie Okpala will give the UNC big men some trouble. I think UNC wins, but they won’t cover.

Oklahoma at -400 for 4 units. Christian James and the Sooners get the win here. This line should be closer to -800. UTSA lost to St. Edwards, which is not even a division 1 basketball team. The -8 scares me a little bit because this feels like it should be closer to -15, but I am confident in the money line. -400 may not look like value, but there is value here.

College Basketball – November 10th

70-62-2 on NCAAB last season and went up 8.95 units

0-0 this season. All of my predictions this season will be posted on this site. Went down a lot in College Basketball last regular season, but won it all back and more in March. Going to take what I learned and apply it to this season..

Oklahoma St. -12.5 for 2 units. The Cowboys had a lot of roster turnover form last season, but Cameron McGriff and Lindy Waters are still there. Charlotte lost their last game to Chattanooga by 11 and Oklahoma St. has way more talent than them. This line should be at 17 or 18 so I will bite. Oklahoma State has won 23 straight openers. Trey Reeves was surprised with a scholarship for OSU in one of those feel good stories, but he will have to show up for this to cover. Great teams cover.

William & Mary +4 for 3 units. The Tribe won their first game against High Point by 10. This is Duquesne first game of the season. Tony Shaver is a solid coach for William & Mary. This game is a pickem so take the points.

Pepperdine -9.5 for 4 units. When it is a Tuesday night in December and you get back from the bar plastered and want to bet… Bet Pepperdine. When it is a rainy Saturday and all your college football picks lose.. Bet Pepperdine. Seriously though, this Pepperdine team is wet from 3. They shot almost 50% from behind the arc in their first game. Pepperdine has been kind to bettors for about 6 months now, let’s keep it rolling.
