NFL Sunday – Week 8

34-27-3 on NFL up 23.95 units

Eagles -4 for 2 units. Jaguars have looked awful. Philly will come out hot after blowing last week’s game vs the Panthers. Jags are missing a lot of their corners. Zach Ertz and Alshon Jeffrey are going to eat.

Bengals at -184 for 6 units. Buccaneers won’t be able to stop Green, Boyd, and Dalton. Bucs only have 1 interception on the season. Giovanni Bernard and John Ross being out hurts the Bengals a little, but I still like them here. Tampa Bay’s offensive line is why I am betting the Bengals so big. I think Cincy will be able to get enough pressure here on Crab Legs.

Colts -3 for 3 units. Raiders are bad.

Jets +10 for 2 units. Too much value. Bouncback game for Jets. Let down game for Bears.

College Football Week 9

27-22 on college football up 3.18 units

Vanderbilt +1 for 1 unit. Vandy is a better team than Arkansas.

Virginia at -325 for 3 units. UNC is not good this season. UVA is above average.

Duke -2.5 for 8 units. Duke is 3-0 on the road this year. They are going for bowl-eligibility with this win. Daniel Jones will do enough to cover this small line. Pittsburgh commits a lot of penalties and is soft against the run. I like Duke to take advantage in those areas. The Blue Devils have lost to Pittsburgh the past 3 times and Duke seniors will want this win. Duke has a lot of injures, but my prediction is they win in what could turn into a high-scoring game.

Syracuse +2 for 3 units. NC State let down game after getting up for Clemson and getting beat. Eric Dungey and Tommy DeVito will both prolly play in this one for Syracuse. Syracuse is hasn’t lost at home this season. Syracuse going for a bowl appearance here, which they have not done in a few years. They are the better team statistically so I am going to take the points.

NFL – If You Thought Monday’s Matchup Was Sexy – Dolphins at Texans

33-26-3 on NFL up 25.08 units

Texans at -345 for 3 units. Brock can’t win unless he plays the Bears.

Texans/Dolphins under 45 for 2 units. Houston’s defense will not let Miami get any big plays, especially without Albert Wilson. I expect an ugly game. The Dolphins average only 21 points a game and I don’t think they reach that here. The Texans offensive line is just bad enough for Miami to get some sacks. I can’t see Miami’s offense moving the ball well. Miami’s defense gives up 25 points a game, but those numbers are slightly inflated because of the Patriots. I see this game ending at around 24-17.

Soccer October 23rd – Champions League

41-31-5 on Soccer since World Cup up 18.70 units

Manchester City at -285 for 3 units.

Bayern Munich at -435 for 4 units.

Manchester City/Munich Parlay for 4 units to win 2.7 units. Both of these clubs are second in their group and need a win. They both looked great in their first domestic game after the international break. Both teams have a great striker in Aguero and Lewandowski. Both teams have won their only other away champions league match this season. Going to send it.

NFL Week 7 Recap – Justin Tucker Misses, the Panthers Comeback, and Amari Cooper to the Cowboys

30-26-3 on NFL up 22.97 units

Chargers 20 – Titans 19 (London)

Melvin Ingram and Derwin James are beasts on defense. Chargers have won 4 in a row and are tied with the Patriots and Rams with 10 wins since week 11 of last season. They have a BYE next week and then Joey Bosa and Melvin Gordon will be back. LA is talented. The Titans have the 30th ranked pass offense and a run game that isn’t all that good. Dion Lewis and Tajae Sharp are their only productive players on offense really. Delanie Walker is missed. Luckily for Tennessee, they are in the AFC South.

Patriots 38 – Bears 31

I still think the loss to the Brocketship and the Dolphins hurts more to Chicago than this Patriots loss. Josh Gordon and the Patriots offensive line looked great. Gordon still doesn’t look like he is running at full speed. Talking about the Red Sox, Tom Brady said “It’s been a while since they’ve been in a World Series.” It has only been 5 years Tom. Nice cocky humblebrag you douche. Michael Vick Trubisky now has more career rushing yards than Dalvin Cook. Bears have Jets, @Bills, Lions, Vikings, @Lions, @Giants coming up on the schedule. If they can go 5-1 in those games, they will be leading their division going into the Rams and Packers games.

Bills 5 – Colts 37

Darius Leonard is a beast. He is leading the NFL in tackles by double digits for the Colts. Marlon Mack went off in this one and actually had more fantasy points than that Todd Gurley guy. Even at 2-5, Indy is only 2 games out of the division lead in the weak AFC South. Todd Gurley has outscored the Bills on the season, but Buffalo has made 10 more field goals than him so that counts for something. Say what you want about Nathan Peterman, at least when he throws interceptions they are touchdowns, I mean what is Derek Anderson doing?

Texans 20 – Jaguars 7

Blake Bortles got benched for former Browns third round pick Cody Kessler. The Jaguars are 10-0 in the last 18 when they score first, and 0-8 when they don’t. As bad as things have been for Jacksonville, they are still 1 game off of winning the division. Bill O’Brien was stern with a reporter after the win and it was pretty awesome. Houston has won 4 straight and now get the Dolphins at home. Brock revenge game. DeAndre Hopkins is real good.

Lions 32 – Dolphins 21

Kerryon Johnson had a day for Detroit. Johnson is 2nd in the NFL in YPC, but only 30th in rushing attempts – Your move Lions coaching staff. Frank Ragnow pile drived a defensive lineman 10 yards for the Lions. The Lions are a game out of first in their division (I think, screw ties), and get Seattle at home next. Miami is the worst 4-3 team in football. Kenyan Drake looked good, but Albert Wilson’s injury hurts. We get a sexy TNF matchup this week with the Dolphins traveling to Houston.

Vikings 37 – Jets 17

Read this game like a book. Mike Zimmer is too good of a coach to let Sam Darnold dice him up as a rookie. Danielle Hunter is quietly second in the league in sacks for Minnesota. Thielen and Diggs are damn good. Vikings lead the division and get the Saints at home this week. We all know what happened last time.. The Jets looked bad, but I like their kelly green uniforms. Jamal Adams is good. The Jets need to diversify the playbook a little bit on offense. They play in Chicago next week in what is a must-win of sorts.

Panthers 21 – Eagles 17

In the second best comeback of the season (Aaron Rodgers against Bears Week 1 is #1), Cam Newton lead Carolina down 17 in the 4th for the win. The defending Super Bowl Champs let this one slip away. Doug Pederson called 13 pass plays and 1 running play once Philly got up 17-0. Questionable. Jason Peters is good, but he is clearly playing hurt and Carson’s blindside has paid the price. Julius Peppers is now tied for most career fumbles forced all-time with Robert Mathis. Eric Reid called Malcolm Jenkins a sellout after the game for Kaepernick related stuff. I am on Reid’s side, but I am not going to get into all that. Reid makes Carolina better on the field. As a Panthers fan, I am excited to beat the Ravens at home next week.

Browns 23 – Buccaneers 26

I think Hue Jackson loves tying. Cleveland has 4 overtime games already this season. I don’t know why the Browns paid Duke Johnson and are not using him. The referees hurt the Browns in this one, but the NFL said they were sorry… Bucs are 3-3 and their best linebacker Kwon Alexander tore his ACL. Mike Evans has been balling out this season. Bucs are @Bengals and @Panthers over the next two weeks. Tough.

Saints 24 – Ravens 23

Justin Tuckers’s face when he missed his first extra point of his career that would have tied the game is priceless. He had made his first 222 extra points before this miss. Not how I thought I would win my Saints moneyline bet, but I will take it. John Brown has been great for Baltimore this season, they should prolly go ahead and resign him. New Orleans hasn’t lost since their shootout with the Bucs in week 1. Baltimore did not score a second half touchdown. Credit to the Saints second half defense. New Orleans travels to Minnesota then plays the Rams at home.

Cowboys 17 – Redskins 20

Dak had a fumble on his own goal-line that led to a Washington touchdown, which was essentially the difference in this game. The Cowboys had an interesting snap infraction, but they could have done more to score a touchdown on that drive. Play-calling was too conservative in my opinion. Dallas does not have enough weapons on offense or a good enough coach, but they did just trade a first round pick for Amari Cooper. I think this is way too much to give up for Cooper. Amari will need a contract next year and is inconsistent. It does fill a need for Dallas, but comes at a steep cost. Good for Gruden. They could have had Josh Gordon for a 4th rounder… A first for Earl Thomas would have been a better trade. The Redskins now lead their division by a game and a half and travel to the Meadowlands to face the Giants this weekend.

Rams 39 – 49ers 10

Aaron Donald had 6 tackles for a loss against San Francisco becoming only the 4th player ever to do that. Still crazy to me that Justin Gilbert and Anthony Barr were taken over him in the 2014 draft. Donald went off for University of Pittsburgh. Rams are the only undefeated team and the only team .500 or better in their division. If the Rams can beat the Packers, the Saints in New Orleans, and the Chiefs in the coming weeks.. They will prolly win the Super Bowl. George Kittle and Joe Staley are two of the few bright spots for San Francisco this season. C.J. Beathard was horrendous under pressure yesterday.

Bengals 10 – Chiefs 45

Kansas City’s defense is getting better and that is scary for the rest of the league. Patrick Peterson wants out of Arizona and he could take this defense to the next level. Kareem Hunt stiff armed Burfict twice on one play, which was pretty sweet. Kelce and Hill are too damn good. Mahomes is already one of the best QBs in the league it seems. I can’t wait to see what he does against playoff defenses, good or bad. The Bengals are still tied atop their division and get the Buccaneers at home this week. Ohio State, the Browns, Miami of Ohio, Dayton, Toledo, and the Bengals all lost this week. Ohio football had a rough week.

NFL October 22 – Hittem with the Sunday Sweep – Monday Night Football

30-26-3 on NFL up 22.97 units

Falcons at -190 for 4 units. Atlanta doesn’t have a secondary, but they have enough weapons on offense to make up for that. Saquon will go off and prolly OBJ too. The key to this game for Atlanta will be their defensive line vs Eli. The Falcons are the worst rushing team in the NFL, but Ito Smith has shown some bright spots. New York’s 21st ranked run defense does not scare me. Atlanta has to win this game at home if they want a shot at making the playoffs in their tough division. The Falcons and us bettors gotta capitalize on the declining Eli here. Matt Ryan has been dicing defenses up when he has a clean pocket with an 83% completion rate in these situations. New York is tied for last in the league with only 7 sacks, which bodes well for Ryan (they are tied with that team that let Khalil Mack go).

NFL October 21st – Jets lose and Saints beat the Ravens

26-26-3 on NFL up 10.53 units

Chargers at -280 for 2 units. Titans won’t be able to stop San Diego’s weapons on offense. I bet teams with more experience at Qb in London games and it has worked so far. Wilson against Carr most recently.

Browns +3.5 for 1 unit. The Bucs shouldn’t be favored by 4 against anybody.

Vikings at -190 for 10 units. Max Play. Mike Zimmer will have some complex schemes against Sam Darnold. The Jets have been getting touchdowns in unordinary ways lately and I think that stops today. Andrew Luck threw a pick 6 on his first possession against the Jets and New York never looked back. Minnesota will take care of the ball. New York won’t be able to stop Diggs and Thielen. Sheldon Richardson will have a good game in his return to NY.

Saints at +129 for 4 units. The Ravens haven’t beat a team as good as the Saints all year. The Ravens lead the league in fewest yards allowed, but those numbers are inflated due to playing the Bills, Broncos, Browns, and Titans. New Orleans averages a whopping 36 points a game. Baltimore won’t be ready for Michael Thomas, Ingram, Kamara, and Brees. This is the only team Drew Brees has not beat. He knows this. John Brown is a worry for the Saints, but they have limited big plays against every wideout not named Julio Jones and/or Calvin Ridley this season. The Saints are coming off a BYE as well.

College Football October 20th

24-22 on college football down 7.03 units

Michigan -7 for 3 units. Huge rivalry game here. Michigan State has won 8 of the past 10. Michigan is far more talented this season. The Spartans are strong on the defensive front, but that is about it. The Spartans don’t have the run game they have had in past years that helps them control these types of games.

Auburn at -175 for 4 units. Ole Miss allows over 520 yards per game in the SEC. Tigers will take care of the ball and win this week, unlike last week.

LSU -6 for 5 units. Night game in Death Valley. LSU and Clemson should have to rock paper scissors for the right to call their stadium Death Valley. I would love to see a Dabo-Coach O rock paper scissor battle. Mississippi State has a great defense and QB. Both Qbs can make plays with their legs. LSU lost this game 37-7 last year. Revenge game. LSU is wearing purple helmets. LSU has a +9 turnover margin on the year, and if they make Fitzgerald throw the ball, this number will go up.

College Football – Air Force at UNLV

23-21 on college football down 6.13 units

Air Force at -410 for 4 units.

Air Force -10 for 2 units. UNLV’s lack of defense will get exposed for the third straight game here. Backup QB here for UNLV. Max Gilliam has completed less than 48% of his passes for UNLV, which leads to too many 3 and outs. UNLV leads the league in rushing, but the injury their starting QB, Armani Rogers, makes that stat obsolete. The Running Rebels allow over 240 yards rushing a game and that is what Air Force does best.

NCAA Football October 18th – Georgia State/Arkansas State

22-21 on college football down 8.13 units

Arkansas State at -500 for 10 units. Max Play. Georgia State gives up almost 500 yards a game. I want to bet the line, but Arkansas State being 1-5 ATS scares me. Georgia State has not won a road game all season. Justice Hansen is Arkansas State’s Senior QB and needs just one more touchdown for the school record. He knows they have to win this game if they want to get another bowl win in his senior season. Opponents average over 7 yards a play against Georgia State and those numbers are worse on the road. Good offense vs a bad defense in this one.
